This second week of November is the end of the second six-week grading period. This means that roughly one-third of the school year has gone by. Please look for report cards next week. Make sure you see your child’s report card. Call the school at 452-3427 if you do not receive a report card. Parent involvement is a key to student success.
Both junior high and varsity football teams were successful last week. The varsity Coyotes outscored Cherokee 60-12 in a halftime victory last Friday night at Cherokee. The junior high football team has their last game against Rochelle junior high this Thursday at 6:00 p.m.at Rochelle. The varsity Coyotes have their last district game this Friday at 7:30 at Coyote Field. Seniors and their parents will be introduced for Senior Night at Coyote Stadium at the last Friday night home game. Get your noisemakers ready, get your warm coat out of the closet, gas up the vehicles, and get ready to hit the road and cheer the Coyotes all the way to another State Championship! Playoffs begin November 16 at a location to be announced.
Girls’ basketball head coach, Travis Jones, is very complimentary of the hustle shown on the court by the Lady Coyotes in their loss to #5 Huckaby. The varsity girls are playing a tough predistrict schedule to prepare for the district race. They traveled to Eden Tuesday to play the Lady Bulldogs, and will travel to Wall ISD to play Forsan this coming Saturday. You have to play the best to become the best! It should be a good year for the varsity Lady Coyotes!
The district will honor local veterans with a Veterans Honor Day fried chicken lunch at the Richland Springs Cafetorium on Friday, November 9. This is one small gesture to say “Thanks for your service!”
It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Thanks for all you do!
Community involvement is the key to success!
