Spring is always a busy time for staff and students and parents. Track meets, golf tournaments, academic one act plays, and stock shows scheduled this week include:

Varsity Boys & Girls Golf Tournament at San Saba-Monday, Mar. 5

JH Track Meet at Blanket-Monday, Mar. 5

Houston Livestock Show-March 7-16 

District One Act Play Rehearsal in Brownwood from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.-Wednesday, March 7

One Act Play District Contest Performance at 12:00 noon in Brownwood-Thursday, March 8

HS Track Blanket Tiger Relays at Blanket-Thursday, March 8

Richland Springs’ students are enjoying a 6 day spring break this year with no school on Friday, March 9- Friday, March 16.  School will resume on Monday, March 19. Only 11 weeks of school remain after spring break.

The All-District 16-A basketball teams were announced. Varsity Coyotes selected are Hutton Lusty-Defensive MVP, Jordan Burkhart-1st team, Linden Brown-1st team, Brandon Tharp-2nd team and Chase Gossett-Newcomer of the Year.  Lady Coyotes selected are Berkeley Mann- Offensive Co-MVP, Jacey Gossett-1st team, Gracie Ashworth-1st team, Kamree Lewis-2nd team, and Atrel Carlisle-2nd team. Athletes are also scholars! Jacey Gossett, Kamree Lewis, Kaitlin Sutherland, Jordan Burkhart, Hutton Lusty, Linden Brown, Brandon Tharp and Wade Appleton were all selected-Academic All District. Both varsity basketball teams made it to the bidistrict round in the state playoff bracket. Congratulations to coaches and players on your accomplishments!

Attendance is important! Encourage your child to be at school every day. Please try to schedule doctor’s appointments after school if possible. Good attendance is so important to student success. Please urge your child to be at school each and every day. If you desire a conference, please schedule a conference time with your child’s teacher. Parent involvement is important! Get involved in your child’s education.

The cast and crew of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest presented a wonderful performance last Sunday at the RS Cafetorium. Over 150 persons enjoyed Jeffry Bates’ famous fried catfish and all the trimmings prior to the public performance. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest will perform at 1:00 p.m. at Brownwood ISD Auditorium this Thursday, March 8 for the District One Act Play competition. Break a leg!
