The Richland Springs One Act Play, Macbeth, directed by Patsy Hall, did not advance at the Area Contest in San Angelo. Macbeth tied for third place, and Water Valley won the toss and advanced to Regionals, thus Richland Springs was the alternate. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff in theatre. Congratulations on a wonderful production. One Act Play is part of UIL academics. Several students will travel to ASU later this week to compete at the UIL Regional Academic meet in various events. Good luck, and bring home the gold.

The first round of STAAR testing is history, with a second round of state assessments beginning on May 1st.

Coach Jerry Burkhart said both the junior high boys’ and girls’ track teams did well at Zephyr last Thursday. The junior high District Meet is Monday, April 10 at Eden. Coach Thomas Tipton complimented the high school track teams who participated at Tolar last Thursday. The high school District Meet is Wednesday, April 12 at Menard. THANKS to all the students who compete in track this season. This great program builds strength and stamina in young athletes, and running will have cardiovascular benefits that will last a lifetime. Come out and support these students at the upcoming district meets, and beyond.

Round 2 of the District Golf Tournament was completed at the San Saba Golf Course on Monday. Thanks to the San Saba Golf course for hosting this event. It’s nice to have a short drive to a district meet. As they entered Day 2 of the District Tournament, the Richland Springs girls’ team was 1st in district, and the boys’ golf team was 2nd in district. Both teams hope to travel to the Regional Tournament at San Angelo on April 24 and 25. Congratulations to both teams!
